Portfolio Floyd Seyler
Floyd Seyler was a Principal Consultant with Sun
Microsystems, Bangkok (Thailand). Floyd began his IT career with
General Electric Advanced Nuclear Division, designing advanced Nuclear
Reactors and Nuclear Satellites. He has been with Sun Microsystems
for seven plus years in the Asia Pacific, beginning his career with
the Sun Professional Services start up in Subic Bay, Philippines.
In 1999 he was instrumental in starting Sun Professional Services,
Thailand where he is with their Client Solutions group, Floyd has
supported Sun projects throughout SE Asia in various capacities.
Floyd has worked on projects in the following countries; Indonesia,
China (PRC), Hong Kong, Philippines, Malaysia, India and Singapore.
Floyd was the Project Manager of the Team of Consultants that implemented
a complete ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)
solution at Reliance Infocomm in Bombay, India. At that time Reliance
Infocomm was the world’s largest startup and requested Sun
to develop the ITIL infrastructure process and procedures to ensure
that their systems and services were stable and highly available
after hard launch.
Previous to Sun; Floyd was part of a team of consultants that started
Pacific Bell internet (now SBC) in San Francisco, California, USA.
He was a member of the original steering committee that was focused
on developing the entire infrastructure to build the company. He
became the CRM (Vantive) Back Office Development Manager for PBI
until he left in 1997.
He has consulted in the various areas of Help/Service Desk, Internet
& Network Call Centers (NOC), Data Warehousing, Billing Systems,
Health Care and Security Access Systems and Database solutions.
An accomplished Technical Writer and can compose Statement of Work
(SOW), Project Plans, Proposals, Build Specifications, Design Specifications,
UAT Test Plans and other technical documents required to manage
and deliver projects.
